About the Search ComArchive Button

The ComArchive for Outlook plug-in is included in the ComArchive installation kit and needs to be installed on the Outlook client. If installed correctly users will see a new button available in Outlook.

On pressing the Tab illustrated by the red circle (Illustration 1) users are presented with the ComArchive Toolbar option (Illustration 2).

On pressing the <Search button> illustrated by the red circle (Illustration 2) users are presented with the ComArchive Search Window (Illustration 3).

Note: Button text, headings and captures may vary depending on the language settings for the ComArchive application.

If a user has access to mailboxes other than their own, they have the ability to select which mailboxes (in the archive) that they would like to search. They also have the ability to search the content (body) and/or subject of the emails.

Choosing the Attachments tab will provide users with the ability to search the content of attachments stored in emails.

In the Search field users have the ability to use the AND operator between words to narrow a search. A wildcard operator * can be used if the user only knows part of the word they are searching for.
